“Walking burns 300 calories an hour, so if I walk for an hour I’ll burn off the 300 calorie chocolate bar I ate.”
Bottom line: This over-estimates the effect of the exercise on the individual chocolate bar.
“No pain, no gain.”
Bottom line: Exercise shouldn’t hurt, but exerting yourself a little can improve your fitness.
“Low-intensity exercise burns more fat.”
Bottom line: Exercising at higher intensities helps you get fitter and burn more total energy in a given amount of time.
“Walking one kilometer burns the same calories as running one kilometer.”
Bottom line: Running burns 1.5 times as many net calories per kilometer as walking.
“I’m slim and healthy, I don’t need to exercise.”
Bottom line: Exercise contributes to good overall physical and mental health — it’s not just about body weight.
The Weight Loss Battle….
Your diet is about 75 percent of the weight loss battle. Don't think that because you went to the gym, or saw your trainer before work, or did an exercise video before bed, that you can raid the pantry. If you do not fuel your body properly, your results will be washed down the drain with your sweat. Follow a well-balanced, low-fat diet that includes lean protein, complex carbohydrates, and lots of fruits and veggies. Drink water, water, and more water.
Women and strength training, do they mix?

In fact, all training breaks down muscles; the building occurs after exercise while you are recovering, and only if you take in the proper nutrition at the proper time.
